BLOGRUSH: Getting Traffic?

October 13th, 2007 by Fabien

BlogRush New WidgetBlogRush promised us ‘A Flood of Targeted Readers’ to our blogs. Unfortunately as with everything that promises lots of traffic it did not deliver for many. Why? The BlogRush widget is a great idea and in theory it should be able to provide different blogs with traffic each day, considering the amount of people who have signed up to it.

I have not received too many people via BlogRush but I still believe it is worthwhile. If only there was a better system of managing and equalising the amount of traffic which goes to each blog, but that is hard to do when some people post a lot (3 to 5 times a day) and some others post once a month (BTW: your blog is dead).

I believe that BlogRush should tighten it’s strings and accept only frequent blogs and quality blog, blogs which have excessive banner ads should not be accepted…quality control? So what do you think? Tell us about it by commenting right here on our website, we use DoFollow so your Technorati will get some extra authority!

I hope that the new and improved BlogRush management system coming out soon will do a lot to improve the many flaws which the system currently has. Overall BlogRush is an absolutely fantastic idea which is being improved upon.

I should also point out that they are specifying width and height of the widget when it would be highly advisable to let the users choose how they want it (with the new customization generation that is on the loose).

  2. I’ve just installed Blog Rush on my blog recently to see if I could get any traffic from it. Most of the reviews that I’ve read about it contained negative feedback. However, it seems that the system is getting better since they were able to get rid of almost everyone who was cheating the system.

I’m hoping that the blog traffic from it will start getting better and I think that your suggestion about quality control is great. A minimum criteria should be created for blogs to be able to join and stay in the Blog Rush community.

  3. Thanks for your input Artur! Yes, it is essential that they accept blogs which are not plastered with ads.

  4. i was already running this widget for quite sometimes, but I still didn’t receive any traffic from it.

  5. Then you are living proof! As well as I and many others, thanks for the comment SELaplana.

  6. BlogRush will probably still be here, with the new BlogRush 2.0 look. Hopefully that will work well!

  7. I’m fairly certain that blogrush will be around for awhile. John Reese has too much positive image in the IM world to cause any shift away from him. That being said, Blog Rush claimed all kinds of traffic to my site, but the truth is, it was not there. Neither site meter or Google analytics confirmed the claims made by BlogRush.

What it does do is give the opportunity to visitors you’ve worked hard to get to your site another door to leave. If you’re trying to make money with your blog or site, I just don’t get how this is a good thing for you. By the way, nice site.
