BlogRush Quality Traffic, New & Improved

The deletion of 10,000+ blogs from BlogRush to maintain quality is absolutely fantastic. The removal of non English blogs has some good and bad points but I am not here to debate that. So, what do all these new BlogRush improvements mean? Does it mean less traffic or more quality traffic? Many bloggers out there lost out on some friends in their networks because their blogs were removed from the program (Evil MoneyMaker John Chow).

The changes will probably mean more quality targeted traffic to your blog, they kept our site in the program, this is most probably a testament to the success of Small Fish Big Money. I call on a post which I made on October 13th BlogRush - Getting Traffic? this post discussed that BlogRush needed some sort of quality control and guess what? It happened. The deletion of 10,000 blogs is evidence of exactly that.

BlogRush will soon unveil more phase 2 plans including the new interface (dashboard) and smaller widget. These new changes will no doubt bring a greater sense of control and organization to the user. Did you get kicked out of BlogRush? If you did please tell us.

If you have comments relating to BlogRush please post them, we are a DoFollow website and your links will be added to your Technorati Authority! Backlinks are fantastic, remember that.

In other news, something I have not covered and probably will not cover: Google PageRank…I have one thing to say “Stuff Google, Keep on Advertising…you gotta pay the rent…”

The problem is that of the so-called “low quality” 10000 blogs that were kicked out, many were actually high quality blogs. The flipside is that many of the blogs that passed a “stringent quality check” are merely fronts for zip/email affiliate offer submits. You had at least one such site in your BlogRush widget that I saw.

They needed quality control but they applied it very poorly by eliminating quality blogs and insulting them in the process by leaving in so many purely affiliate marketing blogs.

Thank You for your comments Frank,
Always good to hear from you,
    How are things at OpTempo?
    Hopefully all is well.

As for BlogRush…it is a bit
    of disaster mania isn’t it.

    Kind Regards,

I don’t know what is up with BlogRush, whether they have some plan, or if they are brain dead and hired a bunch of monkeys to do their blog reviews. But I do know there was absolutely no reason to remove my blog–it is primarily a political blog, that is more than moderately popular.

And it certainly was of no use during the time I had the widget, and I was one of the first bloggers to sign up, and got them more than a little bit of traffic.

Ironically, I was about to remove them anyway when I got axed. My credits were building up like crazy but getting very few referrals. And all their big talk of revamping the program smelled of snake oil and puffery.

    Hi Fabien,

I’m at 166 posts right now on OpTempo so I should hit the goal of 200 posts by Nov 1. I had the database crash yesterday while I was busy at work which hurt since the site was down about 6 hours.

Becky - I think that some of their decision rules included rejecting sites that had ‘girl’, ‘free’, or other what they considered ‘bad’ keywords in the URL. These were most likely done by a ‘bot, not a person.

    Caleb,

I do not see any problems with the title tag,
it is not very long at all, there should not be any problems there.

Although from a purely analytical point of view I would suggest that a site redesign is in order.

To find freelance designers you may take a trip to http://www.elance.com or I would suggest Weborithm and Unique Blog Designs, but both specialise a lot in blog design.

    Kind Regards,
