Reviewback Reviewed, “Free Blog Reviews”

Reviewback is a service associated with AdGrid work. The reviewback service is a blog review exchange service…what a great idea! Yes, it may be a great idea but the interface definitely needs some work. I have two problems with this service so far and they are as follows: quality control, customization and searchability.

QUALITY CONTROL So…I thought that finding a couple of blogs who want to review exchange with me would be good. Was I wrong or was I wrong? The service is filled with so many blogs which have limited content and bad web design, not to mention extremely short posts. Of course not all the blogs are like this but a heck of a lot of them are. They need to have a system whereby the blogs are checked out and allowed into the program…let’s face it, no one is going to want to exchange with blogs which are not of a high standard…at least I would not want to.

CUSTOMIZATION: The service is very limited in providing the user with a sense of customization, it would be a good idea to incorporated a profile type page with feeds from your website running…like a MyBlogLog style community page mixed with the ReviewBack system. This would be ideal…especially for the Web 2.0 age we live in. By providing users to interact on a more personal level with other users.

SEARCHABILITY: I will say once more that the whole idea of review back is great but there is no search function. I know  you are thinking - WHAT!?! But it is true…absolutely no search function at all…I am having to sift through mounds upon mounds of blogs to try and find at least ONE good one to review exchange with.

So in conclusion I suggest that this service release a PHASE 2 like BlogRush is doing, improve on the above. If the above amendments were made the service would really carry some weight as a trusted and respected service. If that means deleting thousands of blogs from the networks…then by all means please do so.

But I know that all my readers have high quality blogs so I am inviting you to ask me for a blog review exchange. If you want one feel free to go to the Contact Us page and email your name and link to your blog. I definitely believe that this service has potential, so you can help it grow by signing up to it and being a high quality blog amongst many low quality ones.

While I agree with the idea of regulating content, it needs to be minimal. You may think there is a consensus on what a good blog is, but I would disagree.

Obvious splogs and MFA’s should be eliminated, but from there I don’t know. That’s what free expression means.

One man’s crap is another man’s goldmine.

Let’s say we look at starting our own reviews membership club and it will only contain people we like and agree with. We’ll all talk nice about each other and bad about all the ones we disagree with.

Sounds like a group destined to be just one person, since we are all different and will not agree on everything.

    Great site.

AdGridWork is pretty much overrun with spammy splogs from what I’ve seen. I tried it for about a week and found it was pretty useless. I wouldn’t expect any service based on it to be any different.
