Terrific Traffic, Part 1 of 5

tt

Traffic is the heart of any web-site or blog, you may all know this, but what you may not know is that there are masses upon masses of ways to  generate it. You probably think social networks and word of mouth and maybe some paid traffic, but you have to know how to use those to your advantage, and I will be exploring all these methods and more over the next five days. So sit tight and get ready for the ride as part 1 of 5 of Terrific Traffic begins.

Today’s Focus: Profiling Sites & Community Building

MyBlogLog (www.mybloglog.com)

MyBlogLog has a really simple interface to use, you add friends, you get friend requests, you can join communities (15 only) and you have your own community. Unfortunately MyBlogLog only allows you to add 15 friends per day, but you can still build your community. Building your community is what will enable you to build buzz and get traffic in the future.

There is a message members function in your community which you can use to message everyone who has joined your community, and they get an email delivered to them with that same message…what better way to get visitors to your site? At the moment I have only 40 members in my community, and the problem is some of them have left the blogosphere altogether, so when I send an email only a handful of people get the email, but as my community grows, I will have a bigger spread in order to get more visitors to my site and you can do the same to get more traffic to your site.

Bumpzee (www.bumpzee.com)

Bumpzee is extremely similar to MyBlogLog in the sense that it allows you to add friends, build communities and join communities. The great thing about Bumpzee is that they do not have a friend limit like MyBlogLog does, which is great when you want to get more traffic to your site.

I highly recommend that you check out the front page where it has a little box of most active users or users online now and make it a priority to add those people as your friends because you can be sure at least a few of them will come and check your site out. So, add friends and keep adding friends like you have never added before!

Blogcatalog (www.blogcatalog.com)

Blogcatalog is pretty much the same as the two other profiling sites above, you can add friends and join neighborhoods (communities). The secret to using Blogcatalog is to donate, by donating you get several features including, a badge on your profile to make you stand out from the rest, no silly ads cramping your style, weekly thumb-shot updates and last but definitely not least you get to be featured on the FRONT page of BlogCatalog, this gives you the opportunity to get A LOT of exposure, build buzz and generate lots of traffic.

Last Few Notes: Profiling sites are not the key to huge amounts of traffic, but they are one cog that will interlock with the gearwheel together with other forms of traffic, once you have this cog locked into place you can start generating traffic by using various different media which I will cover tomorrow. By the way tomorrow’s focus is: PAID TRAFFIC! So, get ready and I hope you are enjoying the TERRIFIC TRAFFIC SERIES so far.

Liking this series? Want it all after via email in a PDF document? If yes, then wait for the form coming in a couple of days to subscribe to our mailing list or send us a blank email with you email and in the subject box put TERRIFIC TRAFFIC and it will be delivered to you when the series is over. Thanks again and bye for today.
