Terrific Traffic, Part 4 of 5

tt

Today’s Focus: Repeat Visitors

Repeat visitors is one of the most important parts of traffic generation, you can consider it the phase 2 after you have some pretty good traffic going. It is so important because it basically means that these people are coming back and will continue to do so because some sort of loyalty and trust or credibility has been built between the reader and the writer, this could be as a result of many things including

  • The visitor might have liked the site design
  • The visitor might have like the information
  • The visitor might like the writing style of the writer
  • The visitor might believe the site has lots of features
  • The visitor might believe it is different from the norm

But…how do you get the visitor to believe that the site is different from the norm, it is all about differentiation, and I know you may have all heard this before, but it is true. If John Chow wrote similar things to ShoeMoney he would not necessarily have as many readers today as he does now, John Chow is a great example of a successful blog with lots and lots of repeat visitors, I mean how can he 300,000+ pageviews per month without them?

John Chow Uncovered: Why is his blog so good? The reason is because it is unique, unlike other blogs out there, John does not write for one reason only, he merged and has an amalgamation of so many different topics, ranging from very expensive sports cars, his trademark dinner posts, his family, lots of frequent YouTube video coverage etc…Basically he covers the most current and pressing issues which is what any reader wants in a good blog, highly recent news and updates.

Another way to get repeat visitors: In a week you might want to try targeting 5 or 10 different blogs and continually posting comments on those blogs daily, this will definitely attract attention to the site owner and you might be able to get yourself another repeat visitor scenario, then you can keep commenting on those blogs, just a bit less frequently, but still enough to be noticeable.

I am certain that you can see how building that loyalty and credibility with other blogs and readers will help your traffic increase because they will want to come back to your site and keep coming.

Another Focus: Free Ebooks

Lots of people get angry when we talk about free ebooks for traffic creation, they are just like, people download them and never read them, that is sometimes true but I know when I got Yaro Starak’s free ebook I definitely kept going back to it every time I needed some tips and advice.

The fact of the matter is that it depends on the writer and what quality the ebook is, if it is only 10 pages long and is filled with junk bits of information of course I will throw it away, of course I will not read it…If you are going to make an ebook here’s a few things you should know

  • Make it at least more than 15 pages
  • Make it on a topic not covered too much by your niche/mass market
  • Make it easily accessible
  • Use legible fonts
  • Have a contents page
  • Have a disclaimer
  • Have an “About the Author” section (Beginning & End)
  • Refer your reader to other blogging sites
  • Don’t put in too many affiliate links
  • Make it very presentable
  • Justify the text
  • Have clear headings and content
  • Don’t try to sell a 20 page e-book
  • Have an extra offer at the end of the book (another free report etc…)
  • IMPORTANT: HAVE A LINK TO YOUR SITE ON EVERY PAGE FOOTER/HEADER

What does a GOOD e-book do for you? It definitely gives you the credibility you deserve in your niche (ensuring that your marketing skills are up to scratch and you have given it to enough people). Of course it will not always make you an instant star, it will get you well on your way there, because it shows you can create a product and deliver to your readers.

Why do I keep going to Joel Comm’s site every once in a while? Well, let’s see, he gave me his Kontera Secrets book for FREE, he gave me 450+ PLR articles for me to use, to add to that Joel has also given me a free book about Adsense and he continues to send me great emails about great offers. Now that’s what I call credibility building.

These are the kinds of things you need to do to keep people coming back for more and more and more. Repeat visitors are the key to successful websites, it is the foundation of places like YouTube etc…
