Terrific Traffic, Part 5 of 5

tt

Terrific Traffic: The End,

Terrific Traffic has been a great 5 part series for me and I am pretty sure all of you have enjoyed it and hopefully you all learned something new. In the coming days I will be preparing the PDF document for all people have expressed interest in retaining this series for their reading pleasure. If you are interested in getting the PDF then simply contact us with the word PDF in the subject line of your email and we will gladly add you to our mailing list.

I am pretty much finishing up here and preparing for my Christmas celebrations but I am pretty sure I will keep on writing through Christmas. So, lastly I decided we would talk about RSS subscribers and traffic, it is one of the best and most effective way to get people on your site.

Today’s Main Focus: Your Successes…YES YOU!

So you’ve heard me ramble on about traffic this traffic that for about a week now, but I am interested in what YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR SITE.

  • Do you have a technique you use at your site?
  • What method works best for you?
  • Have you ever tried paid traffic, does it work well?
  • Will you be considering a couple of methods I mentioned?
  • Have you learnt anything new?
  • Do you believe in BlogRush traffic?
  • Do you believe in Entrecard traffic?
  • Do you think all traffic methods are stupid?
  • Are you one of the ones who think content is key to traffic?
Top Reason(s) why Content WILL NOT bring you traffic…
  1. If no one is reading the content in the first place, how do you expect to get traffic?

The MOST MYTHICAL STATEMENT OF THEM ALL: If you write GOOD content, people will talk about it and come…

  1. Unless you are the Next Dosh Dosh Maki or Courtney Tuttle there “ain’t nobody gonna be reading your articles!”

So remember, work on your traffic, and work on it well, setting TRAFFIC GOALS if very important, and it can be done simply by saying, this month I want 1000 uniques, the next month 2000 uniques, 3000 uniques after that etc…And you make it your business to make sure you meet those targets…use the methods I have shown you, they should work very well if implemented properly.

Today’s Sub-Focus: RSS and Traffic

RSS has been heralded as the ‘best thing since sliced bread’ kind of product, and it is…to a certain extent. I mean getting daily updates that someone writes delivered directly to your reader, genius! But, it’s only good for some, but others like going to check out the site.

So how does RSS bring traffic? RSS is a great way to deliver content to your readers on a daily basis, on one hand RSS brings traffic because if you have a high enough subscriber count people will definitely see that it is a credible site and they will come back, that’s from the ‘repeat visitors’ stance.

But what you probably did not know is that a large percentage of the world’s population are visual kind of people, they like seeing things, they like the way it looks, looks and aesthetics definitely appeal to them. There are even some statistics which say that more than 65% of the world’s population are more visual than logical or mathematical.

So what’s this got to do with RSS? Well, let me tell you a story…I get up in the morning, I check my RSS reader in Google Reader, I like to find out what’s happening, it’s great to know, but I have a problem, I don’t like reading it through Google reader…I like to read it on the actual site more because it makes me feel that little bit better, so I do exactly that, I check out the site and close the reader, that’s what I did this morning actually.

Of course not everyone is exactly like me, but I am pretty sure you sometimes get tired of reading it through your RSS reader, you want to go to the site, you like the look of the site! You want to experience the full package! You don’t like half baked goods (text only)! So you go ahead and check out the site. An RSS feed is like eating a cake…without any icing on top!

LAST TIP IN THE SERIES: Remember, if your blog is sitting in the blogosphere today and you are hoping that people will start coming because you will be indexed in Google and you are not doing one ounce of promotion…you are destined for one thing and one thing only….FAILURE. So be wise, and use a combination of techniques suggested in this five day series to maximize traffic and build buzz.

A couple of last words from me…

I would like to thank you on a personal level for having joined me on the great journey throughout the five day series, thank you for your comments and your emails, they have all been great to read. For all of you that missed it the PDF will be available soon. I thank you all for coming and hope you continue to support the Small Fish School of Readers.

Thanks Again,

Fabien (Small Fish Big Money Admin)
