We are always on the lookout for new ways to get traffic, most of the new ideas and services that come around all seem to be very “over hyped” and they never actually provide us with a safe and steady source of traffic. Let us get real about things now, will getting traffic ever be easy? The answer to this question is…not really.
Traffic revolves around getting people to come to your site from multiple search engines and services etc…But, one problem is, actually getting ranked in multiple search engine. Now, Google indexes site relatively quickly and you can start getting some decent traffic from it after the 3 month mark, but can you get indexed by more search engines?
The answer to this is, maybe, but the likelihood of actually getting visitors via Yahoo, Ask and Live Search is not likely. Why? Because a “very!” large percentage of people are using Google. The other factor influencing search engines like Yahoo, Ask and Live is the fact that they like older pages, or web-sites which have been around for longer. They are not as likely as Google to index new content from new sites. A blog that has been around for 12 months or more may begin to see some traffic from these other search engines.
Yahoo has, albeit the above, started to index many more blogs and content from RSS feeds at a quicker rate. The problem with getting ranked in Yahoo is largely to do with the clash between algorithms, Google likes a low keyword density whereas Yahoo enjoys a higher keyword density. There is obviously a problem here…how do you fix it? The simple answer is to use a broad range of keywords all relating to your topic, so it will be a high density for a particular topic but there will not be repetition of one keyword only (for example: make money online).
SEO Quick Tips: Make sure that your site has more inbound links than outbound links…I cannot stress this one enough! If you have too many outbound links, Google will be less likely to rank you highly for various keywords. Google sees site with a lot of outbound links as potential “spam” web-sites, so make sure that your site has lower than 50 to 80 outbound links and as many inbound links as you want.
