Windows Live Writer, A Quick And Easy Tutorial
I definitely believe that using a desktop blog editor makes life much easier, especially for those who don’t want the hassle of going into their WordPress admin area each time they want to post. For me, using a desktop blog editor has been great. You can create a post whilst you are offline. This definitely facilitates things, because when you are online again, all you need to click is one button – Publish.
Windows Live Writer: This is my desktop blog editor of preference. I use it because it was recommended by several other bloggers and I believe it is one of the best of its kind. Windows Live Writer has great functionality. You can download plugins for Live Writer which enable you to easily find images from Flickr. Here is a bit of a tutorial…
The above menu shows you the navigation menu for Windows Live Writer. As you can see, some of the commands are pretty intuitive. Publish allows you to publish your post to your blog. Save Draft allows you to keep it as a draft for the future. Features like the View drop-down menu allow you to look at your blog post as it would look on your blog, as HTML code etc…The tools menu allows you to check spelling and manage your blog account from the Live Writer console.
The second tier of the menu bar has some very Microsoft Word style buttons, you can format your text accordingly. You can make the text bold, italics, underlined or have strike-through text. You can also insert block-quotes (represented via the two speech marks). There is also a function to indicate “More…” for those blogs that enjoy baiting the readers to read more. Then there are the other buttons such as “Insert Picture” and “Easy Table Formatting“. At the beginning there is a drop-down box where it says ‘paragraph’ you can also choose between the 6 different stock standard HTML header styles.
The image on the left is another shortcut style menu found in Windows Live Writer, it is very helpful and it adds to the ease of use of Live Writer. It allows you to do things that you can’t do with great ease in WordPress. These include inserting tags easily, inserting a map, inserting a Flickr image (plugin) or inserting a Polaroid look image (plugin). This really makes life easier for bloggers who don’t have ample amounts of time and need to get things done quickly and efficiently. The ability to add plugins to optimize the functionality of Windows Live Writer is fantastic. I highly recommend downloading it: Download Windows Live Writer Now!

Personally I don’t like to use a beta software. Why don’t they just release a 1.0 Final? I’m sure a lot more users will appreciate the final version.
i’m trying to install this software many time. But failed. Don’t know what to do…
