‘Thinking Bigger’ - The SmallFishBigMoney Manifesto
The SmallFishBigMoney Thinking Bigger Manifesto
In October 2007, I created SmallFishBigMoney.Com - a site for news about internet business, online monetization techniques, marketing and entrepreneurship. In October 2008, I relaunched the site with a new theme of ‘Thinking Bigger’. Alongside this launch was the SmallFishBigMoney Thinking Bigger Manifesto for 2008. This manifesto is an 8-slide report outlining my discoveries since October07 till October08. As regular SmallFishBigMoney Readers, this report is available for free - here is an excerpt…
“If you want to earn a significant income online, blogging is probably not the best place to start. For a blog to succeed, it takes copious amounts of time, effort and money; and that is a definite rarity for most. Earnings may not even begin to accrue for the first couple of months, even if you are marketing your content heavily, there are no guarantees, traffic or monetary.
Good business models are built upon the knowledge that you are providing a service to people who need it. This is the most rudimentary education one should recognize before jumping into any business. Since I started blogging, I realized that there was ‘some’ demand for people looking for ways to make money online, but in my case, there was excessive supply and little demand, i.e. too many people could provide the basics of making money online. But I found a loop-hole…“
Originally it was going to be available only via email subscription, but I decided that I would lose a lot of potential readers of the manifesto, so it is now a direct download link!

Very nice! I feel the same way, although I am not that YOUNG.
Without thinking big, you will never go beyond your imagination. Thinking big doesn’t mean that you can go big without one small step at a time.
I think you are moving to the right track toward the Entrepreneurship.
Great report to get start!
Terence: Hey, how’s it going? Long time no speak. I used to see you a lot on Plurk, but I lost my password and I can’t recover it (I’ve contacted the support there countless times but no response). Thanks for your comment, yes, thinking bigger it is a relatively simple concept, but so many people do not think big, they are brought up to think short term (i.e. having a job, month to month payment). Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you again soon. TerenceChang.Com is looking fantastic, I have to drop by sometime!
Fabien:
I have not spent too much time on Plurk either. I am discovering more on Facebook, BrightKite, Tumblr and Twitter.
Those are the most affective ways to network with friends and new local friends I met at the clubs.
If you are in USA, make sure to visit http://www.clubenetwork.com and join your local Club E Network (100% FREE). I met more real life entrepreneurs in the club than on the Internet.
I got a lot of inspiration and motivation after meeting people. I do have a little hard time to melt into the society, but I am getting used to it now.
So keep it up! Blog is fun for making good money, but not really the destination of making HUGE money.
Wish you the best!
Terence: Thanks for those recommendations, unfortunately I’m half way across the globe in Perth, Australia - but I am sure I can find somewhere locally to meet entrepreneurs. I will search Twitter and Facebook to look for some local bloggers, entrepreneurs etc…
The network sounds great; and meeting people in real life is always better than via online communication means, it allows you to more accurately portray your personality, your vibrancy and your aptitude for successful business and ideas.
Working the blogging business model is a tricky task, some people find a formula of system that works for them and I applaud them on that, others still need to tweak every now and then to see what works best. All the best for your entrepreneurial endeavors too. Thanks for your community contribution. It is always very much appreciated.
